Steve Coogan Tapped for Biopic of Porn Mogul Paul Raymond

UNITED KINGDOM—The late British pornographer Paul Raymond is soon to become the subject of a biopic, and actor Steve Coogan is in talks to play the “King of Soho.” Raymond died in 2009 at the age of 82.

“Raymond was a legendary Soho figure who opened Britain’s first strip club—Raymond Revuebar—in 1958 and published the magazines Razzle, Mayfair and Men Only. He put his money into property, and came to own large tracts of London’s West End before dying a multimillionaire recluse in 2008,” reported Chortle. “Now his life story is being adapted into a movie to be directed by Michael Winterbottom—who previously worked with Coogan on 24-Hour Party People and A Cock and Bull Story.”

Raymond, who was reportedly worth 600 million pounds at the time of his death, was born Geoffrey Anthony Quinn in Liverpool in 1925. His entre into the members-only gentlemen’s club business came after he realized that private clubs were exempt from the rules regarding nudity on stage. With the launch of Men Only in 1971, he was credited with creating the market for upscale glossies in Great Britain, and was inevitably compared to contemporaries like Larry Flynt and Hugh Hefner.

The screenplay for the upcoming picture, which has the working title of Paul Raymond’s Wonderful World of Erotica, is being written by Matt Greenhalgh (who penned the biopics Control about Ian Curtis and Nowhere Boy about John Lennon), based on last year’s biography by Paul Willett, Members Only: The Life and Times of Paul Raymond.

It is expected that the film will not go into production until sometime in 2012.

Lee Roy Myers, DreamZone Wrap ‘The Honeymoaners’

Third Degree Prepares Howard Stern Porn Parody

CANOGA PARK, Calif. — Third Degree Films has completed a porn parody of Howard Stern with Ryan McLane in the lead role of the famous shock jock.

Kagney Linn Karter, the 2010 XBIZ New Starlet of the Year, joins Amy Brooke, Bobbi Starr, Breanne Benson and Jada Fire, who plays Robin in the new spoof that will be on the streets June 7.

Packed with low-brow banter and sick humor, the “Official Howard Stern Show Parody” promises to take Stern’s already notorious penchant for porn stars and strippers a step further and go places even he can’t go on his popular TV show.

“I’ve been a Stern Show fan for 20 years so it was both an honor and privilege to pay tribute to the King of All Media,” writer/co-director Mike Quasar said.

The movie also stars Anthony Rosano, Will Powers, Mark Wood, and Dale DaBone. It was co-directed and produced by Tabitha Stevens, who also makes a special appearance playing the game “Guess What’s On My Balls.”

“I’ve been a fan and guest of Howard’s for a long time,” Stevens said. “I am honored that I got to help Mike create and produce a tribute porn parody to the King of All Media!”

Ex-Wrestling Star Chyna Returns to Porn

LOS ANGELES — Former World Wrestling Entertainment star Joanie Laurer, best known as Chyna, is returning to porn in a new Vivid film.

Vivid Entertainment co-chairman Steven Hirsch told TMZ that Chyna approached him months ago to breathe life into her XXX career and wanted to work with the biggest male porn star in the business.

Hirsch did her one better and lined up veterans Evan Stone and Lee Stone to work with her in a threesome in a film reportedly titled, “Backdoor to Chyna” that can be safely assumed is anal-centric.

Chyna modeled nude for Playboy in November 2000, which featured a pictorial of her. In 2002, following her departure from the WWF, Chyna appeared in a second nude pictorial.She also filmed a Playboy adult documentary entitled Joanie Laurer Nude: Wrestling Superstar to Warrior Princess, which followed her on the set.Chyna starred in the 2004 Red Light District film, 1 Night in China with wrestler Sean Walman.

The new DVD is expected to be released this summer.
