Porno Dan Set to Star in Reality Show ‘The Right Hand’
CHATSWORTH, Calif.—Self-proclaimed one man circus, director and producer “Porno” Dan Leal, CEO of Immoral Productions, is the focus of an upcoming reality show debuting this Fall in Canada called The Right Hand.
The show follows Leal’s exploits as he trains Brandon Macintosh, a recent college graduate from a small town in Canada, seeking an entry-level job in the movie business. Unexpectedly, he winds up as Leal’s production assistant.
Camera crews have been following Leal and Macintosh’s daily activities since August at the Exxxtacy Convention in Chicago. Numerous directors and performers are featured in the series including Jim Powers, Craven Moorehead, Ralph Long, Victoria White, Sindee Jennings, Jessie Andrews, Jackie Daniels, Haley Cummings and Amy Brooke.

The concept for the show came after Leal was introduced to Pure Play CEO Richard Arnold at the Venus Berlin show in 2009, after Arnold’s friend overheard Leal talking about his misadventures in the German capital.
“At first I wasn’t interested, but as Richard and I got to talking, I agreed to film a pilot that would chronicle my adventures with my PA,” Leal told AVN. “The pilot episode was filmed in Chicago while we produced a volume in [Immoral’s] Fuck A Fan series.”
Adult stars featured in the pilot include Sea J. Raw, Sara Jay, Charisma Cappelli, Andrews and Brooke. After the pilot was sold to The Movie Network and Movie Central in Canada, and agreed to a 12-episode season, Arnold agreed to finance the remaining 11 installments.
Filming for the season is roughly halfway done Leal said. In addition to Chicago, camera crews captured Leal and his band of misfits in Las Vegas at the Adult Entertainment Expo and the AVN Awards, in New Orleans at Mardi Gras and in Los Angeles at the Immoral Productions studios.
“I’m showing Brandon what its like to be at Immoral Productions, the renegade porn studio that has more fun than anybody. I don’t shoot porn like anyone else. I’m not an artist. I’m a pornographer. I want to have fun and shoot adult entertainment, key word being entertainment. I shoot live every time.”
Immoral maintains an ambitious production schedule shooting live themed shows almost every night broadcast on ImmoralTube.com. Its content is repurposed on DVD and distributed by Pure Play Media.
Leal is known in the industry as a hard worker and an even harder partier. Porn’s own wild and crazy guy.
“I’m a workaholic—I work 80 hours a week,” Leal said. “And then I have the Porno Dan persona that I put out at events and parties, which is just one component of my life. When I go out and decide to have fun, I have more fun in those four hours than most people probably have in four months. I don’t think anyone can keep up with me. I think people see that and say, ‘Oh, that guy is really crazy,’ but I’m just a guy that likes to have fun. There’s the method to my madness.”
Leal hopes that viewers will be left with a positive impression of the industry, challenging many preconceived notions many have about porn and the people who make it.
“I hope people see the different facets of the adult industry, and here we are, this small independent production company doing our thing and having more fun than anyone else. I hope they can see our show, see what we do every day and it challenges their notion of what they think or feel about porn. I also hope they like it enough for us to have a second season!”
